OUR STORY
Some worlds never really leave us.
For founder Elisabetta Savin, the equestrian world came first.
She grew up in competitive show jumping, spending her formative years between horses, training and competition. What began as a sport soon became an education in discipline, responsibility, precision and the quiet understanding that exists between horse and rider.
At twenty, she made a deliberate decision to step away from competitive riding. She chose to devote herself fully to her studies and later to her professional career, determined to build her own independence and to create a life she could sustain through her own work.
But the feeling of belonging to that world never disappeared.
Years followed in finance, management and the jewellery industry, alongside specialised studies in diamonds, goldsmithing and jewellery design.
And eventually, two worlds that had seemed separate began to meet.
SAVÍN Milano was born from that return.
Not from nostalgia, and not from an attempt to recreate the past. From the realisation that there are places we can physically leave without ever truly leaving them behind.
The aesthetic remained.
The instinct remained.
The sense of belonging remained.

Why SAVÍN Milano chooses 18kt gold
Pure gold is naturally soft. To make it suitable for jewellery, it is combined with carefully selected metals that give it strength and determine its final colour.
The karat number indicates how much pure gold is present within that alloy.
At 75% pure gold, 18kt offers a considered balance: it retains the depth, warmth and precious character of gold while gaining the resistance required for jewellery intended to be worn.
This is why 18kt gold remains an established standard in Italian fine jewellery — and why SAVÍN Milano chooses it for its gold creations.

Lower-karat gold contains a higher proportion of other metals. This can make the alloy harder, although the actual resistance of a jewel always depends on its complete composition, design and construction.

Every SAVÍN Milano gold creation is made from solid, certified 18kt gold. It is not gold plated: its colour and precious character belong to the metal itself.
The story of gold
Long before gold became part of jewellery, it belonged to the stars.
Gold atoms were formed through extraordinary cosmic events, including collisions between neutron stars, before becoming part of the matter from which our Solar System and the Earth were created.
Much of the gold originally present in the young Earth moved deep towards its core. Scientists believe that part of the gold later found in the Earth's accessible layers was delivered or replenished by meteorite material during the planet's early history.
Mining does not create gold. It reveals, separates and refines an element whose story began billions of years before ours.
Perhaps this is part of its enduring fascination: every gold jewel carries matter that existed long before it became something personal.
Natural and synthetic stones
A natural gemstone is formed in nature, through geological processes that may take millions or even billions of years.
A synthetic gemstone is created by human intervention in a controlled environment. It may have essentially the same chemical composition, crystal structure and physical properties as its natural counterpart, but it does not have the same origin.
This distinction should not be confused with an imitation.
An imitation, or simulant, resembles another gemstone in appearance but has a different composition. Cubic zirconia, for example, may resemble a diamond, but it is not a synthetic diamond.
The difference lies not only in what the stone is made of, but in where its story begins.
Clarity begins with the right words
Clear terminology is essential when choosing a precious stone.
From September 2026, the CIBJO standard for coloured gemstones uses the term "synthetic" for artificial products that have essentially the same chemical composition, physical properties and structure as their naturally occurring counterparts.
The expressions "laboratory-grown" and "laboratory-created" are no longer included as accepted alternatives for synthetic coloured gemstones within the CIBJO Gemstone Blue Book.
This is an international industry standard rather than a new universal law. Its purpose is simple: to make the origin of a stone immediately clear to the person choosing it.
Natural, synthetic and treated are not interchangeable terms. A natural gemstone may also have undergone an accepted treatment, which should be disclosed separately.
SAVÍN Milano chooses natural diamonds and natural gemstones for its creations.
Their beauty is not defined by absolute perfection. Natural stones may carry minute characteristics formed during their creation — details that belong to their individual history and make each one unique.
The natural origin of every stone is clearly stated within the product information and accompanying documentation. Where relevant, details concerning treatments and independent gemological certification are also provided.
For SAVÍN Milano, this choice is part of the meaning of the creation itself: natural materials, shaped over time, carried into the life and story of the person who wears them.
